What is the Department of Youth Programs?

For over twenty-five years the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion has made it a priority to reach out to high school and college age Reform Jewish students in North America and in Israel. Each year, we welcome over 500 students to our campuses in order to explore Jewish identity, texts, and leadership. Participants in our high school and college events have the opportunity for study and enrichment with members of the HUC-JIR faculty and student body. Our dynamic programs provide Jewish students a unique opportunity to make friendships with other learners. Visiting HUC-JIR is an unforgettable learning and growing experience. For those who are considering a future career as a Jewish professional or for those who are interested in spending time learning and living with fellow Jewish youth, HUC-JIR provides a variety of programming options. Participants also have the opportunity to visit the treasures of HUC-JIR – the archives, libraries, and museums.
